Tanekaha Developments Ltd is a 100% Māori owned and operated construction company specialising in Residential, Commercial and Civil Construction.
Our Mission:
To deliver exceptional construction services, that exceed client expectations while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and workmanship. We are committed to offering affordable services and packages for our community, Iwi, Hapu and Marae, while also striving to build strong relationships and collaboration opportunities with Tier 1 and Tier 2 construction companies.
Our Vision:
Our vision is to establish strong business relationships within the industry, through contractual collaborations. Also to provide a sustainable circular economy within local iwi organisations by creating employment and collaboration opportunities with local Māori Owned Construction Companies. We aim to provide warm, affordable, self sufficient Housing, Papakainga, and Developments to our community. By diversifying our own pricing and planning strategy, this allows us to gain access to competitive suppliers, contractors and resources, offering more affordable options to clients.

Morore Hodges Tuhakaraina
As known as "Mo" began his business journey at Waikato University studying a BBUS in Project Management and Supply Management. This then lead to a passion in the Residential and Civil Construction industries. in 2023 whilst working full time and operating the business, walked away with the apprentice of the year at the Tier 1 CCNZ Construction Awards held in Hamilton, New Zealand. "Mo's" vision, drive, hard-work and aspirations has lead the company to where it is today. His passion for people, construction and business sets the foundation of success, birthing a testament of hope amongst his iwi, Hapu and the wider community. "If i can do it, so can you"

Rhiannon Kearns
"Rhi's" passion for economics and business analytics has lead her journey to a strong experience in retail management a small business qualification, and business ownership. Her attention to detail, excellent, people and customer skills allows her to excel in her role as Administration Manager. Her strong understanding of customer relationships and the importance of market retention, also allows her to sit within the right environment of the company bringing value in all areas of the business.

" The jack of all trades" Whana brings a versatile set of skills from underground services and machine operations to building and construction. His diversity and versatile set of trades brings value and understanding to all projects and operations. A vast experience base with over 25+ years of heavy haulage, underground cabling and machinery operations, opens up windows to expand operations into the Civil and Landscaping sectors.
Project Supervisor / Manager
George Te Huia
As known as "Uncle George" onsite and widely known in the building industry to Sergeant in the New Zealand Army. George brings 45+ years of hands on experience in the Civil , Commercial, Residential, and Maintenance Building sectors. His honed leadership skills, view and understanding of operating, attention to detail, impressive work ethic and stringent structural working processes allows him to execute tasks to a very high efficiency and accuracy across all projects.
